HalalLife

Islam is the world's second largest religion, with about nearly a quarter of the world's population, around 1.9 billion Muslims worldwide. The Islamic community covers more than 120 nations.

Objectives

The purpose of HalalLife is to create a comfortable environment for practicing and following the Islamic way of life throughout the world.

Today Muslims make up the majority of the population in more than 45 countries. However, a fair number of them in continental Europe and in the Asia-Pacific region make up a smaller part of the total population of the countries they live in.

Current problem

One of the major trends in modern Western society is the steady growth of Muslim adherents in countries where Islam is not the traditional or dominant religion.

In countries where Muslims make up the majority of the population, it is easier to follow the precepts of Islam, while in non-Muslim countries it might be difficult.

Getting accurate prayer times, Qibla direction, finding the nearest mosques, halal stores and restaurants, communicating with the Imam, and receiving Islamic banking services cause difficulties in places where Islam is not widespread.

This is particularly challenging in countries where large numbers of Muslim migrants and refugees have arrived due to forced or labor migration.

HalalLife is the solution

HalalLife is a platform created by Muslims for Muslims. It is adapted for the EU, USA, Canada and the UK, where Muslims make up a large percentage of the population today (there are over 55 million Muslims in Europe, and over 12 million in North America).

These and other areas of platform development will help to create an autonomous ecosystem of HalalLife, which should become a guide for each Muslim in following the Islamic way of life and make life way more comfortable and dynamic

The relevance

The number of Muslims around the world is increasing daily, given the migration processes and the increase of Muslims living outside of Islamic territories, the need for information to comfortably follow the Islamic way of life will only grow.

Such information must meet the following criteria:

Timeliness

Relevance

Correctness

(objectivity)

Completeness

(necessary and sufficient amount of information)

Comprehensiveness

(translation languages, visual solutions, interface, operation on all devices)

HalalLife platform market

The top-priority territories for the development of the HalalLife platform are the United States, Canada, the EU countries, and the United Kingdom. These countries have significant potential for platform development—they are not Islamic, but they are home to a Muslim population, totaling more than 65 million people.

Studies and population forecasts for the above-listed countries show that the Muslim population will double in the next 10-20 years. The spread of HalalLife is not limited to these regions. If the project is successful in those countries, we plan to move into a more competitive and larger market, namely the countries and territories where Islam is a traditional or dominant religion.

Monetization of such apps is done through paid subscriptions (Muslimpro), voluntary donations (Sajda) or advertising (Muslimpro, Zabihah).

The uniqueness of Halal Life

The main distinctive feature of Halal Life is the comprehensive database of objects intended for Muslims (cafes, mosques, etc.) perfectly adapted for use in everyday life.

Popularity

According to Ahrefs SEO service, the most popular search on the subject «halal food near me» is asked on Google 457,000 times a month (the latest data for July 2022) in the U.S. alone. In total, the search volume in this particular niche amount to more than 1 million.

Growth dynamics

According to Ahrefs SEO service, the growth dynamics of Google searches for halal locations is impressive. Based on analysis of the phrase «halal food near me» demand has grown more than 23-fold from September 2015 to July 2022.

Zabihah is at the top. The rest of Google's responses are irrelevant or geographically localized (city/region) or are for one brand (chain, restaurant, cafe).

HalalLife competitor Zabihah

The only international competitor that provides answers to such requests is Zabihah.

The Zabihah project itself, which consists of a website and an application, is essentially just a catalog of «halal» places to eat, with uncomfortable internal navigation, critically outdated and doesn’t meet modern design standards.

Object databases are either not updated at all, or are not initially compiled correctly enough for the purposes of the project (the presence of alcohol, incomplete filtering of «partial halal»...).

The Zabihah app is not user-friendly enough, as is confirmed by reviews and ratings of real consumers from mobile stores.

This project completely lacks other necessary functions for Muslims — other halal sites, the qibla, prayer times...

Users of the Zabihah, despite its long history and their database of objects, have a number of complaints, including system deficiencies, which have not been solved for more than 7 years. The analysis of the history of reviews shows it clearly:

HalalLife website will be shown in Google for local queries related to «halal food near me». When entering this site, users will be shown 3-10 halal places close to their location. And then users will be offered to install the application to view the entire database.

Prompting the user to download and install the app will bring us the most engaged audience, which makes more than 1 million Google search queries that we can fulfill.

Prospective monetization strategies
with the planned targets:

1. Selling subscriptions to the paid version

(full functionality and no advertising)
depending on the country, ranging from $5 per month to $30 per year.

50,000 installations in 1 year from the launch of the project;
100,000 installations, including 10% paid subscriptions at $30 per year;
$300,000 per year—after 2 years of investment;
500,000 installations — $1,500,000 per year—after 3 years.

2. Advertising in the free version of the app

Targets/indicators depend on the number of active daily users in each specific country. At 100,000 downloads, the benchmark is 10% active daily users = 1000 daily clicks = $5000 per month).

3. Selling smart and targeted ads

via push notifications and in-app banners

Individual for each region
The user can order food and book a hotel through the app (food delivery through UBER EATS analogues/booking in Halal booking), and paid promotion/placement of these «outlets» at the top of the list in relevant categories in free versions.

4. Monetization for conversions to relevant food delivery/booking apps.

Bonus system (Halalbonus loyalty program) in conjunction with Halal outlets.
By an «outlet» we mean any service sector entity with halal products or an entity managed by Muslims (Muslim business).

The following calculations are made for the launch of this system:

During the first year of operation up to 1000 «outlets» are added to the app.

In 2 years — more than 3000 outlets,
in 3 years — more than 5000 outlets.

The outlets’ share for participation (sales) in the bonus system will be from 2 to 5% (HalalLife monetization), which is beneficial for all three parties to the bonus system.

Objectives:

2-5% of the revenue of Muslim businesses generated by the bonus system (practice shows that the profit from such «bonus» systems is 10-15% of all revenues)

- Assistance in introducing various Muslim products and businesses to a specific region (when implementing cl.3)

- Consulting services for Islamic banking in the regions where the application is operating.

- Franchising opportunities for Muslim brands (Halal) and businesses both inside and outside the region along the North America-Europe-Middle East lines.

The HalalLife database is constantly updated and audited.
